I have some gardening experience up and down the east coast. I fertilize with horse manure rather than any chemicals. The sun is increasingly unpredictable, each season is a challenge. I start seeds indoors in trays on heating mats under lights. I grow many variety flowers and vegetables, grapes,blackberries,2 apple trees.last year apple trees were sickly,no fruit ? I'm noticing less and less bees and more and more hazy sky days due to Khemtrails . I do believe prayer helps with the harvest. SUGGESTION. I germinate most seeds, inbetween sheets of undyed white paper towels kept moist in dark spot until seeds break open. This works better than placing seeds directly into soil to germinate.

I've got the garden fever for sure. We've been getting a nice warm day here and there and it makes me want to start planting. Last year I built me a little 10'x12' hoop greenhouse that worked well. It's getting close to time to starting some seeds in it.

Yes Sir, I agree, the planting bug is definitely biting. I don't have a green house, sure wish I did and is on the to do list for sure. I have thought about the raised bed method but have always just put it in the ground, with good results. Here in my area, it's pretty much just till, fertilize with whatever method your comfortable with and plant. I've seen some people try the wood chip mulch thing but fire ants are such a problem in this area that doesn't seem to work very well. The ground is so wet right now and with the forecast looking like it does it's gonna stay that way for a while. It's always been my habit to not sew until after whatever date easter falls on anyway, though it's a little later this year. So might go in a little early this year. How many of you go by the phases of the moon to plant?

Very resourceful on your part. We used a walk behind tiller for as long as I can remember also. Last year we came into a PTO driven, 3 pt hitch variety for the tractor. It's a lot easier and faster but it's not the same. I have a genuine interest in eventually building some green houses with raised beds at about waist high to make it easier on the wife and myself. She's got a bad back and I ruined my right shoulder and knees back in my younger days. Some things are not really suitable for greenhouse gardening, at least on the scale of greenhouses that I will ever be able to afford but most of those don't require a lot of bending or stooping once you get them in the ground, providing you've got a long enough handle on your hoe anyway.

I have been working with an Aquaponics setup. It allows me to grow up in the air about 3-4ft. So far I have only done this in an old greenhouse, but this year I am going to expand it to out doors. I won't be able to grow year round, but I hope with some imagination I can get 9 month out of the set up.

Maybe I should try germinating some peppers inside in a paper towel. Will that work on squash? I haven't started them yet. We have NO land at the moment. I'm being THE genius level stealth gardener as far as containers and what LOOK like ornamental plants. I'm down outside the DFW area, and spring is kind of peeking in at us already. I just started my peppers (poblano and Anaheim) in an egg carton with a plastic lid so it's kind of like a little greenhouse, and I can bring it in the house at night. I'm going to start some squash (spaghetti and delicata) next. I have seeds for zucc's and cukes, but I'm going to wait til I see how much magic and can work with my planters and poles and whatnot. I got a freebie from Baker Creek with my order... cantaloupe. I <3 LOVE <3 cantaloupe. I hope I can figure out where to put them.
