I went to my VA appointment on 11/13/20 and my blood pressure was 200/100, blood sugar was 190.
Over the last 25 days I have refused to take my medicine out of fear of the side effects. What I have done is start a keto diet and intermittent fasting.
My blood pressure today was 154/79 while my blood sugar was 117. I have dropped 18 lbs in that time as well.
Also, I have been drinking 2Tbs of Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 Tbs of Olive Oil....because that is supposed to help.
A friend has just suggested eating one jalapeno a day, 1/2 twice a day....that has worked for her brother.
Does anyone else have tried and true ways to lower blood pressure and blood sugar?

Blood sugar was 93 this morning! That is in the normal range. Now just have to work on that BP.

Shawnb... Glad your sugar count is coming down, that should make you feel better. Now if you can just get that blood pressure down.

Hi Shawnb,
I hope you have been successful in lowering your BP and sugar.
I am currently interested in lowering BP naturally. I have stopped adding salt to my foods. It helped some, but not as much as I expected or hoped for. I have read drinking Hibiscus tea helps as well as eating magnesium rich foods.
I will try the ACV, olive oil and Jalapeno.

Does anyone else have tried and true ways to lower blood pressure and blood sugar? Yes! Gymnema Sylvestre herb will lower blood sugar like Metformin. I buy mine in a powdered form on Amazon in a five pound bag for about $25. For blood pressure, beets.

To lower BP, eat celery and raw garlic. 1-2 stalks (the entire bunch is a stalk), and 1-2 cloves of garlic daily. Hope that helps!

Shawn I have the same issues and the solution is what you're doing with intermittent fasting being more important than intake, for me. Keep at it for the sake of your kidneys. They don't have a warning signal.
I find that high blood sugar lights a fire on co morbidities. It really is the worst!

I, too, have found that a keto diet and intermittent fasting helps my BP and BG immensely. Also, in coming times of food shortages, those who are used to IF will be far better off.

I have had a heart attack with quadruple bypass surgery… now diabetic… take heart meds but no diabetes meds… daily fasting only eat between 0900 and 1500 most days…. Then every couple of weeks do a 36 to two day fast. A1c 57to 59. Walk with intermittent jogging for 4 to 6 miles per day with ankle weights and wrist weights. Eat a modified keto diet that has smaller meat and fish portions… heavy on the vegetables…. 72% cacao chocolate one third of the standard helping is my treat with my coffee. It’s a big lifestyle change but once you get into the habit … you feel better than you have for years. Yes do get hungry but it’s manageable.
Doctors don’t educate you as much as they should… do you own research. Be proactive…. Good luck … it’s possible to manage and reverse both conditions.
