Just curious how everyone is putting their gardens to bed for the winter? We just remove all the old plants, roll up what ground cover we have had down, And start putting the ashes from the wood stoves on it. Once an area is covered in ashes I start adding composted chicken manure mixed with straw.

We plan on working on our garden structure this winter. We have already pulled the dead plants out and put them in the compost pile. What do you do with asparagus? Cut them back?

I'm making raised beds out of recycled pallets and tin from a storm last spring. Filled with horse manure, goat and rabbit manure. 10x3 boxes some 4x4 18 inches tall. Covering them with leaves and straw

Shawn, I weed eat it off flush to the ground and then cover it with mulch. The garlic, strawberries also get mulched in.

mandcfamily58 you are ahead of me, I still need to get all the old plant out. Tomato plants go on the burning pile, seems to help with some of the diseases they get. I just have a lot of tie strips to cut off before I get to pulling plants.
