Hi! New to the forum

Hi all!  I’m Jan in south Florida, but not really all that far south. We are north of Palm Beach.  The China flu has opened my eyes to what prepping is all about although we have had our share of hurricanes and learn more each time. But when you realize you can’t get everyday items, then the wake up call has arrived.  We have 12 acres of raw land in northeast Georgia and our plan was to retire early there, as in 5 years or so.  However I look at that land differently and am glad it has a flowing stream, backs up to national forest, and has flat land and higher land. It’s off the beaten path as well so we like the privacy.  

im continuously learning about homesteading and self sufficiency and I hope to gain more knowledge from this group.
