Hi, I have been lurking around here since I saw the article on the Prepared Homestead in the Epoch Times (via Zerohedge). My wife (NE, USA) and I (Swiss South African) have been going back and forth for 6 months in an exhausting decision of leaving Switzerland for Missouri (since we just bought a house in 2020...which is a big deal in Switzerland cause of the huge transaction costs). We had already been through this process of staying vs leaving back in 2019, but like many here, the covid craziness put all of that back on the table. Even though our government is going to announce the removal of all covid restrictions this Friday, we have still decided to move, since Missouri can offer us the living we would like to raise children in (home schooling, cheap land, lots of churches and like minded people). So hopefully this time next year we will be packing our bags for the US of A. As far as skills go, my wife is the intelligent one having worked a lot with animals and studied biology...I'm just an accountant . We are both eager to learn, and build slowly. We will buy something with all the basic infrastructure in place, so we will have a good foundation. I race motocross so I hope there are other petrol heads on here! Bonne journée à vous tous!
