So I've been trying to figure this out for a while now and I'm looking toward self sufficient as in no outside hay or feed for livestock or resources from other land. I live in Michigan so I do need to heat my home and I do so with Wood, but I will also need land for livestock. Now the real determining fact I know is what live stock. So I've heard for some people that you need about 5 acres of woods to be able to heat a home and rotate through the woods as the years go on. Livestock wise I'm thinking a milk cow and sheep.
