I'm not sure either. I'm still working on a few bugs before I start promoting it more. I would like this forum to be a place where all Preppers/homesteaders can come and talk. This site has the ability to meet just about every need we would have for a forum for everyone, it's just getting people on board.
Thank you for joining!

Howdy. Thanks for letting me in. I'm not sure if I can be much of a contributor, but I'm a darn good lurker. lol Na, seriously, tho, I will try to be involved. I don't always have smart info to add, so I'll keep my mouth shut til I do. I sure like reading what other folks are doing. And, I like these old style forums. I (like you) am sick up to my nose with Fb and things like that. I suspect we'll all be going back to these kinds of formats soon.

Great idea! Hope this works out as a good community and perhaps a good backup/alternative to Facebook for many who just don't like Facebook.

Hey all. I'm living up in south central Iowa and thinking of buying land in southern Missouri/northern Arkansas for a homestead - not just for myself by I have two adult sons and a youngster left at home that I'm homeschooling. I was born in Springfield and my grandfather was a dairy farmer outside of West Plaines - I still have some cousins around West Plaines and Mountain Home - in a way this feels a lot like planning to go back home. I miss trees and hills.
I'm looking to connect with other homesteaders. We've been living in a small town and while I garden, can, sew and all that stuff - I work from home and my life really has been super easy. I run to the store when I feel like it - it's 4 blocks away. I often drive home on empty because the gas station is 6 blocks away. My husband isn't too keen on relocating so it may be that my boys go first and I try to leave when the "zombies" are a couple blocks away.
Since I am a Christian, my biggest concern is locating near other like minded believers for fellowship and possible worship. It's probably a bad idea to go at this as a lone ranger. Thanks Travis for putting this up. I use Facebook, but I don't like them and every step away from them is a good step.

Hello everyone, This is a great idea. I too am a Christian, and so a lot of things we are seeing today is not surprising. I think the idea of creating connections is so helpful, so many people would not listen to what I had to say concerning where this nation is headed. I tried over the years. Don't know if it is because of my age or what. Over the years I kept trying to add to my different skills, of pattern maker, sewer, crotchet, basket maker, gardening, cooking using every kind of alternative way, using alternative food sources just incase we are without something. Unless the Lord opens a door for me to move, I may be hunkering down in my little city, north west Georgia. So I would like to connect with a group in my area. I am alone, but would love to connect with like minded people.
Grateful that I found you here. I tried to join but this site doesn't accept my email as a real email. So I will check in from time to time.
